We need your support.
Superscout is a volunteer-built platform for social teamwork. We don’t have investors or funders as we build Superscout using whatever we have, and as far as we know it’s the only one of its kind in the world in a lot of ways.
First of all, Superscout is a platform for social teamwork or the act of collaboration among people to solve local challenges and problems with a network of support from people and organizations on the platform that are ready and willing to contribute what they can to help each other through Bayanihan.
Bayanihan is the Filipino culture of people helping each other in our own community with whatever we have without the expectation of return. It’s not about charity, it’s not even “mutual aid” as some like to call anything involving people solving their own problems. Bayanihan is so much more than both those things because it’s rooted in the Filipino tradition of making it together as a community.

Bayanihan is the antidote to all the contemporary habits we’ve developed that perpetrate the “me before others and everything else” that has become the justification for doing whatever it takes and at any cost to people and planet in the pursuit of fame and fortune.
The resilience of both people and planet to opportunism and extraction is not endless, and now is the time to realize that it’s simply impossible for all of us to succeed with the existing approach of “take what we can” in the service of our aspirations of being more than others.
This is why we’re building Superscout as the platform for a global Bayanihan or social teamwork that will provide the network of support most of us need just to make it to tomorrow. We cannot rely on people who put profit before everything else to do the right things, and so we’re taking what we have to build our own technology for the actual things that we need to solve in our daily lives.
We are optimistic but we also deal with reality every day while building Superscout. The difference we make is that we’re willing to forego short-term benefits so we can build something that people and planet actually need without anyone breathing down our necks constantly telling us to take money from everyone and from everywhere.

We’re working on a lot of technology that people need but are often out of reach because of the ever present subscription fees and unaffordable prices that almost all other technology builders use to satisfy their investors. We don’t have that pressure and it allows us to build the things that are actually important such as the following:
1. The world’s only true platform for social teamwork for solving local challenges.
2. A people-owned mesh network that provides free resilient connectivity that works in the harshest conditions.
3. A portable solar energy kit that can power a laptop or desktop, a refrigerator, your fancy satellite internet receiver, and even a water pump and filter that can mean life and death in times of disasters.
4. A low-cost and modular sensor network made with parts that anyone in your community can afford and learn to build so you can have true local early warning for disasters with local context instead of the generalized information you get from almost all other early warning systems.
These are all of the most basic requirements for true local resilience to the climate disaster caused by an unrelenting addiction to profit at any cost.
We are forgoing short-term benefits so we can build for the long term because, after all, nobody can build an amazing future for people who will not be able to survive the present unless some of us decide to abandon greed and take on the work of fixing the problems created by selfishness. Having a business model that promises large scale profits sounds good but only for a very few. Having a business model based on delivering real value to people and planet before anyone else will generate a return on investment for all of us in more ways than any of us can imagine right now.
We need your help.
YOU CAN SUPPORT OUR WORK by purchasing special digital items on sale and will be viewable in your exclusive “Founders Village” in the Superscout app once it’s launched late 2027. These digital items will set your Village Page (user profile page) apart because it will display not just the items you purchased as a unique feature of your page but will also be linked to actual resilience projects in the real world that your support will help make possible. Each item will have a corresponding founders’ points that can be exchanged for real world items included in our founders catalogue.
You can build your own virtual village on the app (viewable through your user profile page) by purchasing available resilience items. Each item purchased will be equal to a real-world item that will be delivered to a real-world community that every purchase helps provide resilience for. The visual display of the item on your page will have a connected reporting page where you can view details of where the items are deployed and what kind of impact they're making.

YOU CAN ALSO SUPPORT by purchasing prints or digital copies of photos from various island locations around the Philippines or scenes from actual on-ground disaster response work of the Bike Scouts community. All the images from disaster response deployments are selected carefully to make sure that they preserve the dignity of the people and places depicted in them. You can make a one-time purchase of a print or digital copy or select to become a part of our monthly postcard club so you can receive a new postcard every month sent from the Philippines to your home.
