Resilience Tech

One of the biggest challenges to making true local resilience in communities possible is the absence of support and investment in non-commercial tech that can bridge the gap for the most disaster-vulnerable places in the Philippines and beyond.

The Bike Scouts' long experience working locally in many such places around the Philippines, including those that were impacted by category-5 typhoon Yolanda in 2013, has taught us that the idea of a commercial solution to the threat of climate-driven disasters in places that cannot afford them is basically fiction.

For more than a decade, the Bike Scouts sought the attention of countless potential sources of support but the harsh reality is that there are no investments to be found unless there's money to be made from saving lives and preventing hardship in disaster-vulnerable communities.

So, with just the help of our own community members we decided to take all of the cutting-edge technology that are never available to ordinary people and have built our own so they can actually solve actual problems where technology is badly-needed. Bike Scouts is now the only true community-led social platform for resilience with its own tech stack for saving lives.

Bike Scouts is proud and grateful to work alongside amazing companies like HIVE Energy Philippines and Lumiton Solar of Switzerland to finally be able to share live-saving and live-changing technology where it actually matters.
